ARMIN SVOBODA
Head Coach
The Cure Club Captain and Head coach, Armin Svoboda was North Canterbury Sports Coach of the Year in 2004, and received a Services to Sport award at the Canterbury Summer Sports Awards in 2006. Armin was awarded a service blazer in 2011 for long term service to New Zealand Rowing. He offers over 35 years involvement in rowing and in 2020 was recognised by the Waimakariri District Council for his services to the community through rowing.
ALEX KENNEDY
Senior Coach
Alex's rowing roots are with Cure, where, as a student from Rangiora High School, his rowing journey began.
He represented New Zealand in the men's under-23 eight in 2013 and 2014 and as a double world champion was selected into the elite NZ rowing squad. In 2016 Alex rowed in the NZ Eight at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and in 2017 competed at World Cup II, World Cup III, and the Henley Royal Regatta.
Alex leads the Club Senior squad.
